One of the most important things you can do for your cover is getting the correct size. If it’s too small, the fabric and seams will be overly stressed and wear out prematurely. If it’s too big, rainwater will collect in the low spots and cause sagging, plus wind will get in, under or around and fill the cover with air, possibly snagging or tearing it on sharp objects. This could also become a safety hazard if your cover is being used while trailering your boat at highway speeds since it will flap wildly, which could reduce your visibility and distract others.

#1. ($) Buy a mooring cover & forget the snaps. Mooring covers tend to give better overall coverage of your boat. They are easier to install, but will fit a little looser. Normally the cover will start from the front deck rail and run all the way to the rear seats or rails. The sides will come down to the deck & attach to your boat using a ¼ rope that is sewn into the hem. The cover is then “cinched” tight using the draw string rope. You can do this by using a knot, or for extra protection, alever ratchet. Additionally the cover comes with loops sewn into the hem every 2- 3 feet to be used with sand bags, 1/8 ratchets, or bungees.

Westland has over 100 years of combined experience in the marine fabric industry. We only give the Exact Fit® name after our custom boat covers are measured, tucked, darted and approved by our pattern craftsmen. Our experience tells us the tighter the fit, the more protected your investment will be from the elements and during transportation. Westland proudly awards our Exact Fit® name to all of our Sharkskin and Sunbrella fabrics, which are patterned for over 150 boat manufacturers from our sister company Great Lakes Boat Top.
A: All of Westland’s custom boat covers are made from high quality, durable Sharkskin polyester or Sunbrella acrylic materials. These materials are the two most trusted and reliable fabrics known to withstand harsh marine and road conditions. With either option, you can travel worry-free knowing that your cover will keep your boat safe from the elements or winds on the road. We are confident your boat cover will perform for years to come, but if anything were to happen we stand by our warranties, including 3-year to 7-year warranties for Sharkskin covers and a 10-year warranty for Sunbrella covers.

A: Westland uses a heavy duty ¼” draw rope to achieve a tight fit with your cover, every time you use it. Unlike shock cord, which breaks down in the sun and can result in a ripped boat cover when you need it the most, the draw rope is going to maintain its integrity and keep your boat protected without loosening up with age or from the sun. This is just one of the many things Westland does to make sure you get a high quality, durable boat cover that you can rely on.
These are available for almost any style of boat ranging in length from 14' to 22'. These covers are a great option for storage or mooring (not designed for trailering). A shock cord is enclosed in the hem of this cover, allowing the cover to snug nicely to the hull. Tie down loops are also sewn throughout the hem of the cover, and a tie down kit is included to aid in securing the cover to the boat. Flex-Fit covers come in a material called Poly-Flex which is an easy to handle fabric that offers general protection from dust, dirt, and the elements. Warrantied for 1 year.
Ordered a book cover . Called before I placed the order to confirm the return policy. I was inform...ed that it could be returned for a full refund as long as I paid return shipping. Received the boat cover within a couple of days . Unfortunately , it did not fit. Called to obtain a return number. I was informed I had to pay 15% restocking fee ($80.00) and pay shipping ($45) because the cover was semi custom. Obviously, it was not custom made for my boat. It did not fit and arrived within a couple of days. See More
